13 Jun Wheal Coates, Bedruthan steps ,Trevose Head

The weather took a turn for the worse but we tried to make the most of the time because it is our last day in Cornwall.

It was a tight drive to St Agnes head. The wind and rain annoyed us. We walked more than a mile to Wheals Coates while the cold wind tried to push us back to the car at the coastguard post. When the weather improved somewhat, we saw many  folks came out to run along the cliffs.

We went north to Bedruthan Steps and waited for the rain to stop in the cafe. We passed Newquay and imagined the shopping opportunities in the warm malls.

The Bedruthan walk was stunningly beautiful with the fringe of the Celtic sea crashing relentlessly on the rocks.

Further north an hour later, we reached Trevose Head Lighthouse. It sparkled in the short period of sun at Dinas head. Stinking Bay was the piece of headland separating the lighthouse and main land. The dune like bay was not well visited. As the wind died down, we snooped around on the moonlike Dinas Head, aware that the shale like land we walked on would be the last for this year.
